New Stephen King. Only part way in and it's really good - my problem?

I can't NOT think of The Simpsons Movie when reading it.

Is Stephen King running out of crap so he is borrowing inspiration from animated series?

Don't know, but I also had the same thought about the Simpson movie ;)
I am almost at the end of the book. It is called 'die Arena' in German. I love the story. King is telling it pretty well. But the similarity can't be denied.

I am barely into it - it reminds me of my favorite by him, "Cell"

Is that the novell with the cell phones, which are driving the people mad and into kind of zombies?

Yep. If you were on your cell phone, or used one after the signal was sent, it turned you into a zombie of sorts. AMAZING book, but probably more so for me because where it started, and the first part of his travels, were all in my area and the descriptions of where he was were PERFECT, so I could "see" it in my head.

I read that as well.. It was kind of scary. Everytime I used my cell after finishing the book, I was expecting a similar effect

Half way done...the pink stars just started falling from the sky. Then I got too tired and had to go to sleep. =(

Finished it last week. Not sure how I feel about the ending. I wanted to see more suffering on the parts of those that made everyone suffer, I guess, which is sick, but they seemed to get out of it way too easy, you know?

LOL yes - a long long time ago. It's true that his stories aren't feel good at all, but after the nasty things that happened to some people, I felt like Junior and Jim got off WAYYYYYY too easy. And to be honest, I expected Jim Remmie to get up there to the box and cause problems...he just kinda...fizzled out.
